I don't think more holidays will increase people's happiness, especially in Japan.

In Japan, we have over 100 holidays including weekends, and this number of holidays is higher than other developed countries.However, I often hear the news about people commited suiside almost everyday. The reason is long hours of hard work, so I think poeple's happiness is not just related to the number of holidays but also how many hours they work on weekdays. Without changing long hours of hard work, Japanese happiness would never increase.

Another reason is few people enjoy holidays in Japan.Many of my frinds say they are very bored on holidays, so they just spend wathing worthless Youtube channels.

I think how to use holidays is much more important to increase thier happiness, so why companies try to hold holidays events for employees or Japanese government encourage them to go to trip by discounting transportation fee? Those trials may increase Japanese hapiness in the long run. (162words)
